Terms and conditions

Last updated: 5 October 2026

These terms govern the use of Wordü and the wordu.co website. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. If you don’t agree with them, don’t use Wordü.

1. What Wordü is

Wordü is a web app for learning English vocabulary. You look words up in a dictionary, save the ones you want to learn and review them with spaced-repetition cards.

2. What Wordü is not

Wordü is a study aid, not a certified course or a professional translation service. The A1 to C2 levels are a reference, sometimes an estimate, and are not equivalent to any exam or official qualification.

Definitions come from open sources and, in some cases, from AI models. They may contain errors or omissions. Don’t rely on Wordü as your only source when a mistake would have consequences.

3. Who can use it

You must be 18 or older to open an account, and the information you give when signing up must be true. One account per person.

You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for what happens under your account. If you think someone else got into it, write to us and change your password.

If you sign up with email and password, you have 48 hours to confirm the email with the code we send you. After that, an unconfirmed account is deleted.

4. Price

Wordü is free: looking words up, saving them and reviewing them. Without an account you can make a limited number of searches.

Later we may offer paid extras, such as visual themes. If we do, the price will be shown before you buy, and nothing that is free today will start requiring payment without advance notice.

5. Your own AI API keys

You can add your own API keys from AI providers. If you do, usage is billed to your account with that provider, under their terms, and whatever is generated with them goes into Wordü’s shared dictionary, available to all users. You can remove them at any time.

6. Content and licences

The dictionary is built from Wiktionary and other open projects, which keep their own licences; they are listed on the app’s sources page. The rest of Wordü — the code, the design, the name and the logo — belongs to its author.

Your word list and review history are yours. You give us only the permission needed to store them and show them to you.

7. Acceptable use

Don’t use Wordü to extract the dictionary in bulk or by automated means, to get around usage limits, to interfere with the service or to try to access other people’s accounts. We may suspend or close accounts that do.

8. Availability

Wordü is provided “as is”. We do our best to keep it running, but we don’t guarantee it will always be available or free of errors, and we may change or remove features.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of Wordü, or for decisions made on the basis of a definition, a translation or a level shown in the app. None of this limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer.

10. Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. How to do it and what is removed is on Delete your account. How your data is handled is described in the Privacy policy.

11. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. If the change is important, we’ll announce it in the app before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of Colombia.
