Delete your account

You can delete your Wordü account, and everything attached to it, whenever you like and without asking anyone’s permission: it’s done inside the app and it’s immediate.
If you can’t get in — you no longer have access to your Google or Facebook account, or you can’t recover your password — you can ask us by email to do it for you.
1. From the app
Open Wordü signed in to your account and:
- Go to Settings and scroll to the bottom.
- Press Delete my account.
- Confirm with Yes, delete everything.
That’s it. The account and everything under it is removed from the server at that moment and the app returns to the start screen. It can’t be undone and we won’t be able to recover anything for you.
2. By email, if you can’t get in
Write to the address at the bottom of this page from your account’s email and tell us to delete it. One line is enough; you don’t need to explain why.
We may reply to check it’s really you before deleting anything. Once confirmed, we delete it as soon as possible and within 30 days at most.
3. What is deleted
Everything that is yours:
- Your account: your name, email, picture, password hash and your link to Google or Facebook. The email becomes free to register again.
- Your learning: your saved words and your full review history.
- Your progress in the game: points, level, streak, medals and your nickname, which disappears from the league and becomes free.
- Your reports of incorrect words that are still awaiting review.
- Your settings, including reminders, notification subscriptions and unlocked themes.
- Your AI API keys, if you had added any.
- The searches you made before signing up from that browser.
4. What is not deleted
Three things, none of which identifies you:
- Shared dictionary entries generated with AI from your searches. They are definitions and examples of words, are not linked to your account and are used by all users.
- Short-lived technical logs on the server, which are discarded automatically.
- Our email provider’s delivery records, which keep evidence of the messages we sent you for a limited time.
5. If you only want to stop the reminders
You don’t need to delete your account: in Settings you can turn off email reminders and notifications.
